Thompson Thrift Breaks Ground on 273-Unit The Crossing Lofts at Fishers District in Indiana

Thompson Thrift announced that construction has begun on The Crossing Lofts at Fishers District, a 273-unit multifamily community in Fishers, Indiana. The development will include approximately 10,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, with first residents expected to move in during January 2028.

According to the company, The Crossing Lofts is located within The Crossing at Fishers District, part of Thompson Thrift's larger Fishers District master plan. The community sits adjacent to the 7,500-seat Fishers Event Center. The four-story, elevator-served building will feature attached structured parking.

"The Crossing Lofts represents another important step in bringing our long-term vision for Fishers District to life," said Josh Purvis, managing partner of Thompson Thrift Residential. "Over the past decade, Fishers District has evolved into a vibrant mixed-use destination, and this community will build on that momentum by bringing residents closer to everything the district has to offer."

The company stated that apartment homes will include studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans with up to 1,440 square feet of space. Units will feature quartz countertops, stainless-steel appliances, hardwood-style flooring, walk-in closets, full-size washers and dryers, and smart-home technology. Select homes will include premium finishes, a den, and private yards.

Amenity offerings will include a heated swimming pool, 24-hour fitness center, courtyards with grilling areas, a pet spa, social hub, coffee bar, focus suites, and resident conference space. The community will also feature a Minnow Pod, described as a secure, temperature-controlled food delivery station.

The property is located near Interstate 69 and 116th Street, providing access to I-465 and employment centers throughout the Indianapolis metropolitan area.

Ryan Menard, vice president of commercial development at Thompson Thrift, stated, "What makes Fishers District special is the way each new development builds on what is already here. The Crossing Lofts will bring more residents into the heart of the district while creating new opportunities for commercial users, further building the energy and connectivity we envisioned."

When completed, The Crossing at Fishers District will include more than 75,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and entertainment space, one 125-room hotel, and nearly 500 multifamily units.

Thompson Thrift began work on Fishers District in 2015. The 123-acre master-planned development represents approximately $750 million in investment and will include five distinct developments offering multifamily and townhome residences, hotels, office space, dining, shopping, and entertainment.
