Multifamily Innovation® Council to Host Live Security Deposit Webinar Ahead of Multifamily Investment, Innovation & AI Summit
SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The Multifamily Innovation® Council announced today it will host a free live virtual webinar titled Security Deposits Are Changing: What Multifamily Operators Need to Understand Heading into 2026 on January 7, 2026, at 9:00 AM Pacific / 12:00 PM Eastern.

The educational session is designed for multifamily owners, operators, and compliance and operations leaders navigating growing complexity around security deposit policies, resident protections, and evolving regulatory expectations. As state level guidance and enforcement continue to shift, the webinar will focus on practical understanding rather than speculation. This live webinar is part of the Council’s ongoing education series leading into the Multifamily Summit for Investment, Innovation & AI, the industry’s annual gathering focused on investment performance, innovation, leadership, and operational resilience.

“Security deposits are no longer a simple administrative function,” said a Patrick Antrim, Chairman for the Multifamily Innovation® Council. “They increasingly sit at the intersection of compliance, resident experience, and portfolio risk. This session is designed to help operators understand the direction of change and prepare responsibly without adding unnecessary complexity.”

During the 60 minute live session, attendees will gain:

  • Insight into how security deposit expectations are evolving across states
  • Clarity on where real compliance and operational risk is emerging
  • Practical guidance on what operators should adjust now versus what to monitor next
  • Context on how security deposit practices connect to broader modernization trends in multifamily

The webinar is educational in nature and is intended to support informed decision making for multifamily organizations of all sizes.

Attendance for the live virtual event is free, with advance registration required. Participants will also be invited to continue the conversation at the upcoming Multifamily Summit for Investment, Innovation & AI, where industry leaders will explore deeper themes related to investment strategy, innovation, and long term value creation.
