Prometheus Opens Harken, 172-Unit Community in Los Altos

Prometheus Real Estate Group announced the opening of Harken, a 172-unit apartment community located at 5150 El Camino Real in Los Altos, California. According to the company, this represents the first new apartment project in Los Altos in decades.

The property will offer 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom residences averaging 1,134 square feet each. The development includes 29 below-market-rate affordable housing units.

"Due to the lack of construction in recent years, it's charming downtown, great neighborhoods, and strong school district, it's been nearly impossible to find a place to live in Los Altos," said Don Peterson, Senior Vice President at Prometheus Real Estate Group. "With all of this in mind, Harken was designed to offer something different: a boutique experience with quality materials and thoughtful details throughout."

The property's design incorporates natural light and wood tones throughout the community. Common areas include a private listening lounge, 2 lobbies, and a clubhouse. The fitness center operates 24/7 and features Technogym cardio and strength-training equipment along with a multi-functional training rack. Additional amenities include a pool, a 20-by-10-foot spa, and towel service.

Harken is situated less than 2 miles from Almond Elementary School, Ardis G. Egan Junior High School, and Los Altos High School. The property is also less than 2 miles from the San Antonio Caltrain station, providing access to San Francisco and San Jose. The location sits between downtown Los Altos and Mountain View.

Leasing begins this month, with occupancy expected to start in November. The company reports that a waiting list is currently open, with tours scheduled for later this year.
