John M Corcoran Company Opens Leasing at Dexter Street Commons in Pawtucket

John M. Corcoran & Co. has opened leasing at Dexter Street Commons, a new-construction, five-story, 150-home apartment community in the Conant Thread District of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Built by New England Construction and managed by John M. Corcoran & Co., the property includes ground floor retail and expects to begin resident move-ins in late August.

Dexter Street Commons offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom homes accessed via two lobby elevators. Units are designed with varied layouts for remote work and include stainless Energy Star-rated kitchen appliances, energy saving LED lighting, and independent heating and cooling systems. Thirty of the apartments are designated as workforce housing for qualified individuals or families.

"Dexter Street Commons was designed around how people want to live today, whether they re commuting to Providence or Boston, working remotely, enjoying neighborhood dining and shopping, or simply seeking a home that supports their well-being, said Kelli Ahearn-Lucas, Assistant Marketing Director at John M. Corcoran & Company. From the co-working spaces and lounges to the commuter-friendly location and wellness-focused design, this community offers residents a place to truly live, work, and thrive."

The pet-friendly building includes a package room, bike storage, personal storage, EV charging, and a sprawling roof deck. Common areas emphasize connectivity and flexibility with high-speed IoT internet, private networking, co-working spaces, indoor lounge, and touchless access. Large ground-floor retail spaces are intended to support downtown Pawtucket activity.

Located one block from the new Pawtucket/Central Falls commuter rail and bus hub, the property is positioned as a transit-oriented, mixed-use community with direct access to Providence, Boston, and TF Green Airport. The design of Dexter Street Commons prioritizes environmental sustainability and resident well-being while integrating workforce housing and amenity choices that support contemporary living and working patterns.

Multifamily Leadership recognizes projects like Dexter Street Commons as examples of how development and operations are responding to shifting resident needs—combining transit access, technology-forward amenities, wellness-oriented design, and targeted affordable housing within a single, mixed-use setting.
