Wood Partners Breaks Ground on Alta Newnan Crossing Multifamily Community in Newnan Georgia

Wood Partners has broken ground on Alta Newnan Crossing, a new multifamily community in Newnan, Georgia, approximately 40 miles southwest of Atlanta. The development will include 274 apartment units, seven townhomes and 7,700 square feet of ground-floor retail, with an expected completion in fall 2027.

"Alta Newnan Crossing is designed to bring a new level of residential living to Newnan through a thoughtful mix of housing, amenities and connectivity," said Bennett Sands, Executive Managing Director at Wood Partners. "This community will complement the way residents want to live today while bringing much-needed housing to this growing city."

Apartment offerings at Alta Newnan Crossing will consist of one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. The separately delivered townhomes each feature three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. On-site amenities include a clubhouse, state-of-the-art fitness room, package room, co-working space, retail courtyard and a resort-style pool and courtyard. The site also will connect to the LINC Trail, Newnan’s multi-use path system.

The project adds housing and retail supply in a market experiencing population growth. According to World Population Review, Newnan’s population has increased 9.5 percent since the 2020 census and is growing at an annual rate of 1.47 percent. Alta Newnan Crossing offers direct access to Interstate 85 and regional connections to Atlanta, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and area employers.

Alta Newnan Crossing is Wood Partners’ second development in Newnan; the firm completed Alta Ashley Park, a 269-unit community, in June 2023. As multifamily development increasingly integrates residential, retail and active transportation links, projects like this illustrate operational priorities for community connectivity and amenity-driven design.

We will continue to monitor construction progress and report updates relevant to owners, operators and investors active in the Atlanta metro and Sun Belt markets.
